Scrabble Game Bookshelf Edition

Scrabble Game Bookshelf Edition

6E. Vintage Bookshelf Edition

Notes

This bookshelf edition of Scrabble was inspired by the vintage graphics of the original 1948 game. It comes in an elegant storage box appearing like a book itself and opens to hold all of the game pieces artfully organized within. A classic to be enjoyed for generations to come.

In the 1930’s, during the Depression, an unemployed architect named Alfred M. Butts invented a board game with letter tiles and a scoring system associated with each letter tile and square on the board. He first called it Lexico and then Criss Cross Words, but it remained relatively unknown until he teamed with James Bruno’s, an entrepreneur who coined and trademarked the name of the game Scrabble. It first ran off of the production line as Scrabble in 1948 and has been successful ever since.

Description

Cloth hollowed book case with gray lettering on the front board and spine. Interior has all game pieces for an official Scrabble game. Also comes with a slipcase for the hollowed tome for further protection.
